Welcome!

Our names are Jarrad and Zahra, and we began sleddog sports in 2012 and 2014. Initially, we were just having fun with our first pet huskies and malamutes as a social hobby.

Our involvement has now evolved into a lifestyle. From Siberians and Alaskan Malamutes, to Alaskan Huskies, German Shorthaired Pointers, and finally Eurohounds – between us, we’ve owned and trained many different dogs including a number of rescues for AMRAA & Arctic Breed Rescue.

Originating in NSW, Zahra was a part of the SHCNSW Sledding Committee and also did their social media advertising for a few years. Now she is the current South Australian Rep for ASSA and Secretary for Wild Dog Mushers Association. In 2021 she became a Non-stop Dogwear Sponsored Athlete. She has raced in all states except WA and Tasmania, and especially misses the novelty fun of snow races since the pandemic.

Jarrad has served as President for SASDC in the past, and presently Wild Dog. He has raced locally in South Australia and travelled to Victoria a few times. A highlight in his sled dog travels was racing 1 Dog Open at the 2015 IFSS World Championships in Bristol, Canada. He ran a dog named Mopus, kindly loaned by Mark & Murielle Ovenden.

We have two boys, Harrison (3) and Connor(5) who both enjoy helping with watering, feeding, and walking the dogs at races. They both part-take in Peewees class with our steady girl Karla, and Connor’s dog Lucian. If Harrison had it his way though, he would be speedily towed behind Skadi every time.
